Coach Stores: What to Know at Flagships and Boutiques

Coach finished its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, according to Tapestry’s annual report. That total splits into 336 stores in North America and 637 outside North America. A figure of about 1,299 stores is sometimes cited as well, but that number covers all of Tapestry’s brands rather than Coach on its own. By some accounts, Tapestry has said it aims to open around 50 net new Coach stores in fiscal 2027, roughly three quarters of them outside North America. Coach House flagships, regular full-price boutiques, concessions inside department stores and Coach Outlet stores all belong to the network. Searching for a coach store can therefore bring up quite different formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Working city by city, this guide covers the best-documented locations and points out where a store’s current status has yet to be confirmed.

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue

New York, where Coach was established in 1941, houses the brand’s most recognised flagship. The Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was unveiled in the fall of 2016 to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary. Created with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield, it was reported at about 20,000 square feet over three floors. That address is not a permanent home, however, because Coach has reportedly taken a lease on about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House. Coach has pencilled in 2027 for the proposed move, while David Yurman has reportedly leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space ahead of an expected opening in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so look at Coach’s store locator cosch purse before travelling specially. There is also a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards in the locator listings, not far from Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London: The Coach House on Regent Street

London’s Coach House is located at 200–206 Regent Street and launched in 2016 as a global concept store. Studio Sofield was also behind the design of the London store, which gives it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. A Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation was reported in coverage at the time. Coverage also noted a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly take around 12 weeks, rising to about 16 weeks with exotic skins. Watch out for the wrong opening year: one retail-district listing shows a much later page date, and some writers have been misled by it. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry noted that the UK, together with some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material penetration, as a published transcript records. Anyone planning a personalisation appointment should confirm which services are currently offered before visiting.

Tokyo: Ginza

Coach’s main Japanese flagship is found in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The store, renewed in 2015, dates back to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. It reopened on 19 December 2025 after a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY, according to coverage of the relaunch. Japan also matters for services, because select Japanese stores reportedly participate in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Outlet items and canvas pieces are reportedly not accepted, while the scheme accepts gently worn all-leather retail bags. As it was not confirmed which Japanese stores are involved, ask the store before bringing a bag along. Opening times and available services should be checked shortly before a visit, as is true of every flagship in this guide.

Hong Kong, Chongqing and an Old Shanghai Record in Greater China

Coach’s large stores in Greater China are documented less fully than the flagships in New York or London. An old record, now out of date, notes that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Nobody could verify its current status, so the Shanghai store should not be assumed to be open today. It has also been reported that Coach operates a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. The dates on which those two stores opened also remain unverified. The annual report records 637 international stores out of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but it provides no breakdown by city. Before travelling, rely on Coach’s local store locator rather than older press coverage.

British Boutiques and Concessions

Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator includes full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. In London, the list also covers St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. The Bullring in Birmingham has the documented full-price store away from the capital. Coach also has a presence through concessions within Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. Stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and other cities were not confirmed, so check before assuming a local branch exists. For anyone searching coach uk locations, this list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing. When confirming hours and services, the safest place is each listed store’s own page on Coach’s UK website.

Coach Outlet Stores

Far from being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores form part of Coach’s own network, and Coach identifies them as outlets in its store locator. They usually sit in outlet centres, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. In the UK, Coach Outlet stores are confirmed to trade at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. Double-check before travelling to York Designer Outlet, as a store there has been reported but not confirmed. Some of the stock in outlet stores is made for the outlet channel, yet today’s mix is unknown, because the only share figure found, around 85%, dates from 2014. Alongside earlier-season styles, outlet ranges can also include some full-price collection product under the reported «One Coach» strategy. Anyone planning a coach outlet trip should review current offers first, because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.

Inside a Coach Store: What to Expect

Clothing, shoes and small leather goods are shown next to the current handbag range inside a full-price coach store, where handbags take centre stage. Familiar bag families in 2026 include the Tabby, introduced in 2019, the Brooklyn, first released in August 2024, and the Empire Carryall, brought out in February 2025. In the US, a Tabby 26 was seen at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, yet these are observed market prices rather than official list prices. Some stores also participate in the (Re)Loved trade-in, which runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores. One membership extends to both formats, as Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, reportedly covers both Coach and Coach Outlet. Because Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, a receipt from a Coach store offers helpful evidence of where a coach bag came from. Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013, continues as Creative Director in 2026 and leads the creative direction.

How to Plan a Visit

Above all while the New York flagship prepares to move, a little preparation saves wasted journeys. Begin with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, because it distinguishes full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. If you plan a trade-in, make sure that the specific store participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, check in advance whether the service is running. Visitors to Britain should be aware that tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021, so there is no VAT refund to factor in. Each receipt records where a bag was bought in case questions arise later, so hold on to all of them. Ahead of a long trip to an outlet centre, check current promotions, as offers change often.

  • Consult the store locator on the day you travel.
  • Confirm trade-in participation and eligibility.
  • Plan ahead for personalisation services.
  • Each purchase should come with a receipt you hold on to.
